The Dodecanese run along the Turkish coast, from Patmos down to Rhodes. They are further apart than the Cyclades, so a week usually takes in four or five islands, each very different: a volcano, an island of sponge divers, a harbour of coloured houses.
It has the warmest sea of the four areas, about 27 °C in August. The meltemi blows here from the west and north-west, strongest in July and August. Spring and autumn are gentler, and the sea stays warm well into October.

Rhodes or Kos?
Kos for Kalymnos, Pserimos, Nisyros and the islands to the north. Rhodes for Symi, Tilos and Halki, and its medieval Old Town before or after the week.
Is it windy in summer?
In July and August the meltemi blows from the west and north-west, as in the Cyclades, and the captain plans around it. May, June and September are calmer, with the sea still warm.
When is the sea warmest?
In August, at about 27 °C, the warmest of the four areas. In October it is still about 24 °C.
